Foundation
Established September 2, 1997
Altrusa Club of Northeastern Connecticut Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit Connecticut Corporation that administers contributions received from Altrusa International, Inc. of Northeastern Connecticut through fundraising efforts, individual members, and public donors.
To name a few, monies have aided the installation of health and literacy programs at Windham Hospital, the State Department of Social Services, and the Windham Adult Learning Center. Donations have improved the facilities at Safe Haven and New Hope Manor. The Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation continues to receive support with ongoing Library projects. Altrusa remains dedicated to music and the arts, providing scholarships and support. A stated focus of Altrusa is to promote literacy.
These are some, but not all, of the projects supported by the local foundation. The Foundation is administered by a board of officers and up to three directors elected for three-year terms and installed at the annual meeting. Directors and officers are elected in June.
