Altrusa NE CT makes small grants to 501c(3) and municipal organizations where funding will directly benefit that program's service recipients.
To be considered for a grant, the applicant must be located in Northeast Connecticut. Programs that have been awarded grants previously must reapply in order to qualify.
Preference is given to programs where lack of other funding can threaten the program's viability. Worthy, but well-funded, programs as well as programs with the capability of raising adequate funds are not high priority. Historically, Altrusa NE CT has favored funding to agencies and programs that provide basic services to people in need. Altrusa's grants, usually range between $300 - $2000. The are awarded for concrete client needs, new programs, enhancement of physical plants, etc. We do not fund operating costs.
